NYSC DG appointed to Board of Chemical Society of Nigeria

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Director-General, Brigadier General Sulaiman Zakari Kazaure, has been appointed member of the Board of Trustees (BOT) of the Chemical Society of Nigeria (CSN).

The Board of Trustees was inaugurated in Abuja on Saturday with seven other members.

Kazaure, who, until his investiture, had been a member of the society, holds a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, a Master of Science Degree in Analytical Chemistry, a Post Graduate Diploma in Education and a Doctorate Degree in Pure and Applied Chemistry.

As a chemist and seasoned Senior Army Officer, Brigadier General Kazaure has used his wealth of knowledge in the production of DICON Draw soap which is used to lubricate and polish bullet cases during mechanical drawing process.

He was also part of a committee that developed a policy on nuclear, biological and chemical warfare for the Nigerian Army.

Speaking at the inauguration of the BOT, the President of the Chemical Society of Nigeria, Professor Gloria Ukalina Obuzor charged the members to be committed to repositioning the society towards attainment of greater heights.

Obuzor also urged them to use their wealth of knowledge and experience to promote synergy among all science based organisations in Nigeria.

The CSN was founded in 1971 with the aim of raising national consciousness on the centrality of Chemistry to the overall progress of man and development of society.

It is the premier professional home for all chemists, chemical engineers and related professions.
