The Director General of the National Youth Service Corps, Brigadier General Suleman Zakari Kazaure has called on Corps members in Ondo State to be neutral and avoid any form of partisanship as they prepare to participate in Saturday's gubernatorial election.
Brigadier General Kazaure gave the warning while addressing Corps members at the Dome international event centre, Akure in Ondo State as part of preparations to ensure a hitch free participation of corps members in the Ondo elections.
He charged them to eschew all negative vices that could tarnish the good image of the scheme especially, any form of material inducement from politicians.
"You must repeat the successes recorded by your predecessors in the 2011 elections and the recently concluded Edo elections in this coming exercise", he reiterated.
The NYSC Boss quickly assured them of their safety as all security agencies are working tirelessly to protect and defend them.
The Commissioner of Police Ondo State, CP Ibifuro Harrison and the Commander, 32 Artillery Brigade, Brigadier General Charles Ofoche who were also at the sensitization, reiterated their preparedness to ensure a peaceful and safe participation of corps members in the election.
The INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner Ondo State, Mr Olusegun Agbaje in his remarks at the event applauded the NYSC for its robust assistance in conducting credible elections.
The INEC REC who was represented by Alhaji Kabir Omosanya said, the NYSC has added credibility to the electoral process in nigeria since his commission signed a memorandum of understanding with the scheme.
About 3280 corps members have been trained by INEC to function as adhoc staff in the forthcoming Ondo Governorship election set to hold on Saturday, 26th November, 2016.
