The NYSC Director-General, Brigadier General Sulaiman Kazaure, has charged Corps members to promote National unity in the Country by serving as good Ambassadors of the NYSC Scheme.
Kazaure gave the charge while addressing the 2016 Batch 'B' (Stream II) Corps members at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Mangu, Plateau State.
He enjoined them to regard themselves as members of one family, and to always show love to one another.
The Director-General, Kazaure told them about the activities of the dislodged members of the Boko Haram sect and kidnappers, and advised them to alert security agencies to any suspicious persons or strange movements.
Kazaure also urged the Corps members to use the platform of the NYSC Community Development Service to execute projects that would transform their host communities.
He reiterated the need for them to seek self-employment by participating in the skills acquisition and entrepreneurial programme of the scheme.
"As you are already aware, white collar jobs are not easy to come by. I do not want you to roam the streets in search of jobs that are not there.
"Try and be your own master, and even create jobs for others. We are into collaboration with the CBN and the Bank of Industry, and they are ready to grant you start-up loans," he said.
Earlier in her welcome address, the NYSC State Coordinator, Mrs. Funmilayo Akin-Moses, told the Director-General that adequate security had been provided in the camp, and provision made for adequate water and power supply.
Akin-Moses said both Corps members and camp officials conducted themselves well with the former participating actively in camp activities.
She appealed to the Director-General to help in providing new Man O' War gadgets for the camp.
